1202. So TTG photos have to be “undoctored” but they do not have to be “unmanipulated” or “unaltered”?

That is correct.

• “unmanipulated” — There is no such thing, because all digital photos undergo various “manipulations” inside the device before the photo even shows up on the screen.

• “unaltered” — The most original image possible to come out of the device: the photographer does no cropping, no color correction, no brightness adjustments, no non-optical bokeh, no non-optical perspective correction, no changed lighting effects, etc.

• “undoctored” — Undergoes no changes except TTG's Allowable Changes. Describes TTG photos and basically all newsphotos.

“doctored” — Undergoes changes other than TTG's Allowable Changes. Cannot qualify as TTG.
