More on FAQ #1605

1605. Does P6 disqualify stereoscopic and 3D images?

Yes, although single frames from such images may be eligible to qualify as TTG.

P6 disqualifies any image that is not “a single, fixed, still photograph that looks the same to all viewers, capable of being printed such that the result could be viewed . . . at any angle.”

So there would be no way to have the combined effect (that is, the effect that the viewer of stereoscopic and 3D images sees) meet P6.

Note, however, that the individual components of many stereoscopic and 3D images can be eligible to qualify as TTG (each of the two photos in a Victorian stereoscope would usually be eligible, for example, assuming the photographer is still alive to make the Guarantee).
