322. Can “inaccurate” photos can qualify as TTG?
No, they cannot.
If inaccurate photos could qualify as TTG, the TTG label would be worthless: no viewer would knowingly trust an “inaccurate” photo.
Instead, TTG requires (in P7) that a TTG photograph “not misrepresent the appearance of the scene photographed.”
That gives photographers plenty to work with
TTG photographers can use all of TTG’s Allowable Changes to ensure that the appearance of a photograph meets P7 and thus is not “misrepresentative” — and thus not “inaccurate.” (See also here)
If a photograph cannot meet P7 using TTG’s Allowable Changes, the photo is considered TTG-ineligible and cannot qualify as TTG under any circumstances.
