“Millions of images with some AI-fabricated elements are already online without labels.”
There have been proposals that disclosure labels would only be required on images that are 100% generated by AI.
But . . .
• Such labeling requirements would be easy to circumvent by adding an undetectably tiny “photography-generated” element into any AI-fabricated image; and
• Any “100% only” proposals ignore the capabilities for deception made possible by inserting AI-fabricated elements into normal photographs, as is routinely being done already.
