“doctored”
A doctored photograph is basically a photo that shows “anything other than what the camera lens saw at the moment the picture was taken” (as judged by rinairs).
The formal definition of “doctored”:
Photographs are considered “doctored” — and cannot meet the Trust Test — any time that:
1) they undergo any changes other than TTG’s Allowable Changes
OR
2) when performing any of those Allowable Changes results in failure to meet P7.
This definition is not arbitrary, unlike a lot of the definitions floating around out there:
• The #1 part of the definition reflects a worldwide consensus.
• The #2 part of the definition is based on the standards of the world’s largest providers of trusted photographs.
