focus stacking
“Focus stacking” is the process of “stacking” (combining) numerous exposures of the same (usually motionless) subject, each of which exposures is generally identical to the others except for having a different part of the subject in focus.
When the multiple exposures are stacked or layered, more of the subject is rendered in focus than may have been possible with a single exposure.
Focus stacking is allowed by TTG, subject to the limits set on combining exposures.
However, in practice the “one-second” requirement of P5 would make any non-automated focus-stacking extremely difficult.
