Tones and colors

“Tones and colors” is a more user-friendly term for “light”-related aspects of the depiction of things in photographs.

Most depictions of things in photographs have both “light”-related aspects and non-“light”-related aspects.

Changes to “tones and colors” (that is, changes to a photograph’s “light”-related aspects) are on TTG’s Allowable Changes list linked in P2.

Sometimes changes to tones and colors are not only possible but necessary for the photograph to meet P7.
