A “Nonfiction” label
for photographs
-
A. What is TTG?
TTG is a label for photos that depict only what the camera actually saw.
All TTG-qualified photos are 100% free of AI-fabricated imaging.
The TTG label uses the Trust Test Guarantee to help the public sort out which images — and which sources of images — can be trusted.
-
B. Why is there TTG?
Because we are moving into a world of AI-fabricated images that look exactly like photographs.
From now on until forever, no one should trust any picture that looks like a photograph unless they are convinced to trust it by non-visual means — that is, a label, an explanation, or a source that they trust.
TTG is designed to help with all three.
-
C. How does TTG work?
1. The image provider uses the “TTG” label to claim that a photo meets worldwide standards (the “Trust Test”) for trustworthy photographs.
2. The viewer sees the label and decides whether to believe that claim.
3. The viewer uses the lessons from #2 to judge the image source (for example, “That is a place where I would not trust the TTG label”).
